James C. Watkins

James C. Watkins (1951 - ) born in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1951 and raised in a farming family in Athens, Alabama.〔Ceramics Monthly, (Cover), "Pots Made of Memories", Autobiographic Essay, James Watkins, June/July/August 1992.〕 He is a ceramic artist living in Lubbock, Texas and is known for his large scale double-walled ceramic vessels and laser cut (porcelain substrate ) 〔(PC SUBSTRATES:Laswe Scribing ).〕 tiles. Watkins is a (Paul Whitfield Horn Professor ) 〔(Paul Whitfield Horn Professorship ).〕 in the College of Architecture at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas where he teaches Architectural Ceramics and Architectural Drawing.
